Cryptosporidium Meeting
March 10-12, 2024 Philadelphia
The last 20 years have seen remarkable advances in Cryptosporidium research, and there are many new opportunities to better understand the biology of this organism. Based on discussions within the community this is an opportune time for a forum to foster exchange of ideas to help maintain progress within the field. Therefore, we invite you to a conference in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania that will cover some of the most pertinent topics essential to develop new strategies required to prevent transmission and develop new therapies. These include Cryptosporidium epidemiology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, population genetics, pathogenesis, immunology, as well as diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. We expect this to be an important milestone meeting that will combine oral presentations as well as poster sessions. We are grateful to our sponsors that have allowed us to organize this meeting free of registration charge. Please note that attendance will be limited, and one criteria to attend will be abstract submission. For junior scientist we will favor registrations that are accompanied by an abstract.
Meeting registration and abstract submission is closed for this conference.
Conference Details
- Scientific sessions location: The conference will use lecture halls, poster, and social spaces in the Hill Pavilion research and teaching building located in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, 380 South University Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
Posters: will be mounted on foam boards with pins. The max space allotted to each poster is 48x48 inches. There is no prescribed format, but we suggest a standard ‘portrait’ style poster that is no longer than 46 inches.

The conference dinner and networking event will follow the last session on March 12, 6 pm, at the Penn Museum, 3620 South Street, Philadelphia (https://www.penn.museum/), which is in walking distance from the conference venue. The location will be in the marvelous Chinese Rotunda. Attendees will be able to see some of the Museum's collection if they are interested.
- Accommodations: The conference will NOT provide housing. Numerous hotels are within walking distance or easily reached by public transportation or taxi/ride share. Attendees will make their own bookings and a list of some hotels can be found below. Note that many additional accommodation possibilities exist which attendees are welcome to explore on their own.
